2003/2004 News

Your scribe has been awfully tardy in getting updates posted. Consequently, we have two years worth of news.

Our stallion, Synod Lord Percival, took supreme champion at the 2004 NY Breeders show. As you can imagine, we are delighted with that result.

We have had two foal crops and they are all looking amazing!
In 2003, Pendermere Learner's Permit (Lawful Flight x Synod Lord Percival), AKA Alex  arrived.
Also in 2003, Lianna's Golden Girl presented us with a half brother to Maudie -Pendermere Gameboy (Lianna's Golden Girl x Lianna's Special Occasion). AKA Levi.
Poppy's Star had a 2003 liver chestnut colt  affectionately known as "Robbie".  Robbie has a brand new family in Pontypool.
In 2004, Pendermere Carbon Copy (Coblynau Cusan x Synod Lord Percival) arrived on April 2nd and now lives with the MacGillivray family in Limehouse, Ontario.
Our colt curse was finally broken with the 2004 arrival of Pendermere Love Potion AKA Catalina, a liver chestnut filly by Rhoson Pasiant out of Lawful Flight on July 5th.  She is a full sister to Pendermere Legacy; who was Reserve Champion Yearling Hunter pony in Division 3 USEQ.

Sadly this year we lost dear Tom Thumb, Glenalan's mount who had been leased out.  His death left us all heart broken.

Many of our ponies found new homes and partners during the last year and a half.  These include SRM's Dazzling Starbuck, Happy Hour, Robbie; Pendermere Always Say Please; Pendermere Origami; Lianna's Special Occaision; Lianna's BM Odesse, Lianna's NL Golden Girl, Pendermere Ask Me Later, and Chablis.  They all have gone to good homes but will be missed by everyone.  Some of the vacancies  have been filled by Silent Truth (Paris), Doctor Whooze (Abbey), and of course our new foals.

Sadly, Danielle has outgrown Galli, and that dynamic duo has come to and end.  However; our son Glenalan has picked up the reins and has started to take command over her.

Danielle on the other hand was left without a mount for a few months, but in January we came across Silent Truth (Paris), a 16hh, 17 year old, ex-racing Thoroughbred.  We have retired Paris back to the brood mare band, as she has some issues with her SI joint....something to do with having 9 foals.

So, we were on the look for a new mount for Danielle once again.  Quite unexpectedly, we found her in our own  paddock ....  Pendermere Animee is now in training under saddle, and they are under the tutelage of Tone Reid of Granitewood Farm.

Additionally, as an experiment Danielle has taken over TC's reins at the end of May and  is adding "under saddle" to his repertoire ( pictures to come). TC and Danielle went to NEWPA on the 4th of July weekend. With no expectations, considering their limited work to date, they went into the Ridden Cob class, and happened to come out with a blue ribbon (out of four).  Absolutely unbelieveable; but absolutely wonderful!

Courtney and Galli had the same luck the next day, and came out of the 2ft. Division with a first, second and fourth, giving them Reserve Champion.  Way to go!

Annie also went to NEWPA and kept up with her stablemates. She placed 2nd under both judges in the 2 and under ½-Welsh and then Reserve Champion Jr. filly.  In
the open sport pony 2 and under she placed 3rd under that judge. The icing on this cake was the NY State Fair where she went Grand Champion ½-Welsh!!!!

Blacklea Crystal (Tawny) has been leased out to Michelle and Kaitlyn as their new mount.  So far so good with the new team, good luck to this dynamic trio!

In 2003, TC  was entered in both the Canadian Carriage Classic, and  the Walnut Hill  Carriage Show.    He performed magnificently with Jeff Kohler at the reins, and together they won the coveted Grand Champion Single Pony and went on to win the  2003 North American Small Driving Pony Champion! Not bad for a 4 year old! We couldn't be any happier than we are with TC.  What next...FEI dressage pony?  Or???.
